Description

Laminaria is an elegantly crafted, highly concentrated extract of brown algae, Laminaria japonica, distinguished from common seaweed supplements by its superior bioavailability and potent therapeutic compounds. This premium formula delivers concentrated levels of organic iodine, fucoxanthin alginates, and most importantly, fucoidan and laminarin – essential polysaccharides rich in glucuronic acid, fucose, and mannose.

Worldwide, iodine deficiency is the most common cause of thyroid enlargement and goiter. As the body’s iodine levels fall, hypothyroidism may develop, since iodine is essential for making thyroid hormone.

Laminaria japonica (brown algae) contains organic iodine, fucoxanthin, laminarin, and a high concentration of fucoidan. This is not just another dried, ground seaweed formulation. It is, in fact, a highly concentrated extract of one of the most well-researched brown algae.

One of the main factors that set it apart from other seaweed products is its high content of soluble polysaccharides: fucoidan, laminarin, and alginate. Fucoidan is particularly rich in such simple sugars as glucuronic acid and fucose. The slightly sweet, distinctive taste of Laminaria is produced mostly from mannose.

The thyroid gland controls metabolism and promotes the maturation of the nervous system. Organic iodine is an element that is needed for the production of thyroid hormones. Without adequate iodine, the thyroid progressively enlarges as it keeps up with the demand for thyroid hormone production. Iodine is accumulated by the immune system, especially by neutrophils, during phagocytosis (engulfing bacteria and other foreign bodies).
