What is microneedling?
Microneedling is a controlled “micro-trauma” to the skin tissue creating microscopic channels which allows for platelet rich plasma (PRP), obtained from your own blood to penetrate into the deeper layers of the skin where collagen is produced. When the platelets from your plasma are applied topically to the “traumatized” tissue, they send signals to the local cells to proliferate. This process may accelerate tissue repair and remodeling resulting in increased collagen formation and skin tightening.
Who Benefits from Microneedling? Microneedling is appropriate for individuals who would like to address: Acne scars, sun-damaged skin, fine lines and wrinkles, large pores and hyperpigmentation. How long does microneedling take? Microneedling combined with PRP is normally completed within 60-90 minutes depending on the required treatment and anatomical site(s). Sites include: face, neck, chest. Injections of the patient’s PRP may be provided in areas of deep line/wrinkles as an optional add-on. What is Skinpen Microneedling Device? At Purist Natural Medicine, we use the SkinPen, an FDA approved micro-needling device designed to stimulate the skin’s natural ability to produce new collagen and elastin for healthier, younger feeling skin. Cosmetic Injections w/ PRP
Cosmetic platelet rich plasma (PRP) therapies utilize concentrated growth factors from your own blood injected into the areas of focus to reverse the signs of aging without the side effects of artificial fillers and chemicals. This technology acts as a natural filler made out of your own platelets which can fill deeper lines, plump lips, fill under eyes etc. Because PRP is 100% from your own blood, it is a natural alternative to chemical peels, botox and more. This is a great option for individuals who want a regenerative and natural approach to skincare. Results begin showing within days, including plumper, younger looking skin, improved skin coloring and reduced wrinkles. Depending on skin health & depth of lines, one treatment every 4 weeks for 3-6 months is recommended to build the collagen base. After this initial foundation is established, maintenance treatments include one treatment every 3-12 months. There is minimal bruising after the therapy. Oxygen injections help to minimize the appearance of stretch marks and cellulite by oxygenating the tissue and clearing out toxins. A series of 2-3 sessions/week is recommended for 15-20 sessions.
